We got up early and after cooking brekkie at the park BBQ headed off to Freycinet National Park.
It was absolutely pouring with rain and we sat in the camper and watched as people arrived back from their Wineglass Bay hike totally saturated, trying to decide if we were going to attempt it or not.
Anyway, we put on our rain coats, paid our fee at the office and started off with a slow jog to warm up. By the time we reached the lookout, it had stopped raining, with no sun, it meant our photos weren’t going to be that great. Nevertheless the view is amazing.
The beach hike looked tempting so we headed down the 1000 steps. This was also a suggested 1.5-2 hour walk each way which we did in 45 min each way. It was quite a workout!
Anyway, it was worth it. The sand quite different to sand anywhere I’ve been, larger grains and a beautiful whitish colour. We passed a few hikers on the way. One even went for a swim.
